What yourdream means
Describe a dream in your own words. You get what the Vedas, Upanishads, epics and Puranas say about it, and what sleep science says, side by side.
02How it worksCalculated
By default what you write is read in this browser and goes nowhere. If you tick the AI box and press the button, the text of your dream, and nothing else about you, is sent to our AI provider to write a reading, and is not stored. Either way the page looks for words in your dream that appear in the old lists of auspicious and inauspicious dreams, and in the sleep research we hold. The on-device part does not understand your dream; the AI part can reason about it, but it is limited to the sources on this page and can still be wrong. Neither can tell you what will happen.
The Vedas themselves do not read dreams as omens. The Rigveda only passes bad dreams on, and the Upanishads treat dreaming as a state of the self. The dream lists belong to later texts: the Atharvaveda appendix, the Agni and Matsya Puranas and the Agamas. The Bhagavata Purana is one of the eighteen great Puranas, and the Ramayana and Mahabharata are the epics, the Itihasa.
03What this cannot doEditorial
A dream is not a forecast. Our sources hold no study showing that dream content foretells events, and say why we dream is still unknown. If bad dreams are frequent or follow a trauma, a doctor or therapist can help.
