The annualchart

Once a year the Sun returns to the exact degree it held at your birth. Tajika casts a new chart for that moment and reads it for the year ahead.

Places are found with GeoNames data through our server. Only the place you type is sent, never your date or time.

02How it worksCalculated

The solar return is found by searching for the moment the Sun’s longitude equals its birth longitude. The traditional return is sidereal, measured against the stars, so it falls about twelve hours later for every thirty-six years of age than a tropical return would, because of precession. Both are offered.

The muntha is a progressed point: it starts in the birth lagna sign and moves one sign for every year of age. The tradition reads the house of the annual chart it falls in, and its lord. The annual chart is cast for your birthplace unless you change the place.

The year lord (Varshesha) and the Tajika yogas such as Ithasala are part of the tradition and are not calculated here.
